Is Walz’s Past A Total Fabrication?
After a recent story broke about lies found in the Walz campaign, many voiced doubts about the truth of Tim Walz’s past. Walz has already been accused of lying about his military record, and his campaign stands accused of faking artillery-induced deafness to lie about a DUI.
But those aren’t the only tales creeping in from the past of vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz. After as many as 50 military veterans expressed their disgust of Walz for misrepresenting his military achievements, it seems as though more lies keep pouring out like water.
Lies Found in His Military Background
Hung Cao, a retired Navy Captain and candidate for the Virginia Senate told the New York Post, “For 20 years, they let this guy go by with a lie that he deployed to Iraq, which he didn’t, and that he retired as a command sergeant major, which he did not. I mean, that’s just blatant lies!”
Walz was also accused of lying about his deployment to Afghanistan after it was discovered that he was never sent to any combat zone, despite repeatedly claiming that he had been. In fact, it is even in his official biography.
Military members have expressed anger at Walz for calling himself a retired Command Sargeant Major, when his latest rank before he left the military was Master Sargeant. Walz has since admitted that he never even carried “weapons of war” onto a battlefield.
Lies Found About Walz’s Chamber of Commerce Award
After learning of Walz’s alleged deception concerning his military career, many Conservatives began researching his past to see what else he may have fabricated. It didn’t take long for a letter from the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce to be discovered which showed another lie.
As he was running for Congress in the state of Minnesota, Walz’s website boasted of an award that he had received from the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce for work that he had done in the business community. But a story posted by Emma Colton of Fox News shows that this was just another fabrication meant to cast Walz in a good light.
In fact, then-president of the Nebraska COC, Barry L. Kendry wrote a “blistering” letter to Walz demanding that he “remove any reference” to the Chamber of Commerce. A Minnesota news outlet, ‘Alpha News’ discovered the story after reviewing local news from that time period.
That letter, dated November 1, 2006, read, “We researched this matter and can confirm that you have not been the recipient of any award from the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce. I am not going to draw a conclusion about your intentions by including this line in your biography.”
The letter went on to say, “However, we respectfully request that you remove any reference to our organization as it could be considered an endorsement of your candidacy. It should be pointed out, however, that the US Chamber of Commerce has endorsed your opponent, Congressman Gil Gutknecht, for his support of small business issues.”
Lies Found in Walz’s Football Coach Career
As if that weren’t enough lies, Walz also stands accused of lying about his career as a football coach. Social media users called the discrepancies, “weird,” after watching former Mankato West High School football team members stand on the DNC stage to support their former “coach.”
Why is this weird? Minnesota Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar took the podium to announce, “In Minnesota, we trust a coach who turned a team that was 0-27 into state champions.” Her sentiments were backed by former student Ben Ingman and several other students who took the stage to put on a cheer squad-type show.
But as social media users pointed out, “Amy Klobuchar introduces Timothy Walz as a coach who ‘turned’ a team ‘into state champions. He was NEVER a head coach. He didn’t ‘turn’ anyone into state champions.”
“Still really, really confused about why they keep pushing the ‘Coach Walz’ thing from a million years ago when Tim Walz was a volunteer assistant coach…why not focus on his Governorship…no…they just want to focus on Coach Walz…it’s strange.”
So just how much of Tim Walz’s past is even real?
